6,7,8! offers multiple levels of jazz, tap, ballet, Pre-Dance and Intro-Dance. Classes run Monday through Wednesday evenings September through May. Placement is based on dance technique, physical strength, and the student's ability to learn and retain the information given in class. There are discounts for multiple class families. For safety reasons, we do not allow students to teach. All classes are taught by the Artistic Director and owner, Jennifer Bates, or skilled teachers who have worked professionally and been auditioned by the Artistic Director.

Ms. Bates worked as a professional singer and dancer for ten years before returning to her home town of Findlay. She is a 1990 graduate of Findlay High School and received her BA in Dance performance from the Conservatory at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has worked for such companies as Stiletto Entertainment Los Angeles, Holland America Cruise Lines, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, West Virginia Public Theatre, Gargaro Productions (Pittsburgh Musical Theatre), Playhouse Theatre Company, and the Kent Dance Ensemble. She has also toured in Scotland, Ireland, and Australia with rock bands. Locally, her choreography has been seen in productions for Findlay Light Opera, University of Findlay, Summer Stock, Bluffton University, Grand Central, Riverdale Soundsation, Carey High School, Arlington High School as well as the national award winning 6,7,8! Performing Arts Center Competition Team.
COMPANY (Formerly, competition Team)
Each summer 6,7,8! holds auditions for the studio company. Students who show a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, good technique in class, and are over the age of 7 are encouraged to audition. This group of dancers attends conventions and competitions throughout the year to compete for titles, scholarships, agency representation, etc.
We offer an optional end of year concert that does not require expensive costumes for those dancers who want to perform and experience the thrill of the stage without the demands of competition.
Throughout the year we have other optional special events for the students to participate in such as Bring A Friend Week, National Dance Week, dancing in our Halloween costumes, and Christmas For Kids in Need. We offer additional master classes taught by exceptional teachers brought in from around the country for our students. This enables the students to experience different styles of dance and teaching without having to travel across the US to receive the information.
